Unity despite adverse circumstances

In autumn 2024, the “Convivencia Cabanyal” facility fell victim to the flood disaster in Valencia. The facility presents a place for young people with social problems who have experienced violence and as a result became violent themselves. The aim of the project “Conviviendo – Ayuda para Cabanyal” (in English “Living Together – Help for Cabanyal”) is to ensure that the young people may continue their therapeutic measures and attend school despite the flood disaster. Due to a current lack of local transport, minibuses are urgently required for this need to be met.

The time spent in Cabanyal is used to find positive solutions to inter-family conflicts by teaching participants how to resolve conflicts in a non-violent and solution-orientated way. Not only do the young people receive therapeutic counselling, but the parents are also provided with advice and support during this challenging time. The aim is to stabilise family life by strengthening parenting skills.
