Climb learning holidays for a successful start to school
The aim of the “Hello School!” programme is to make the transition from nursery to primary school easier for children from socially disadvantaged families and to teach them important learning and life skills at an early age. The aim is to enable educational success from the outset and to strengthen equal opportunities.
During the two-week climb learning holidays, up to 45 children are looked after directly on the premises of primary schools during the holidays. On eight learning days, they experience structured learning times in German and Maths lessons as well as creative project phases, supplemented by two exciting excursions. Preschoolers and first-graders receive special attention: they learn key aspects of everyday school life in a playful way – from greeting each other and listening to working in groups.
This is based, among other things, on the US concept “Tools of the Mind”, which specifically supports children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Through role-playing games such as “doctor’s office” or “shop”, the children develop concentration, language skills and imagination.
