Sharing knowledge for greater educational equality
The project is aiming to give children positive encouragement at an early age, boost their self-confidence and open up new perspectives on education, careers and society. The project brings volunteer citizens to primary schools in socially disadvantaged regions as so-called “LifeTeachers”. During substitute lessons, they share their knowledge, life stories and professional experiences with the pupils, either in person or digitally.
An app links the topics requested by the schools with suitable LifeTeachers. The children do not experience traditional lessons, but open discussions under the motto “Ask me anything”, which arouse their curiosity and make real life paths visible. Parents are actively involved, as are local businesses. LifeLessons make education a joint effort and promote equal opportunities – regardless of background or social status.
