Listening – where education begins
The aim of “Lilo Lausch” is to strengthen key basic skills such as language comprehension, dialogue skills and cultural awareness at an early age, thereby improving equal opportunities in the education system. With this programme, the Listening Foundation promotes listening and language skills among children aged 2 to 7 throughout Germany, especially those from disadvantaged families.
At the heart of the programme is the elephant hand puppet “Lilo Lausch”, which playfully invites children to “listening times”: listening games, sound puzzles and intercultural exchange encourage children to listen actively, express themselves and engage with other languages and cultures.
In six modular online training courses, educational professionals learn how to integrate the tried-and-tested material into everyday life – e.g. in morning circles or small groups.
“Lilo Lausch” starts where education begins – in early listening. It makes the transition to school easier for children, regardless of their background or starting opportunities.
