Education begins before school starts: Improving opportunities for all children and their parents through holistic support.

Future Skills ReDI: Digital Training for Kids and Youth
The ReDI School teaches 1,400 children and young people in Duisburg-Marxloh digital skills, from programming to AI. At the heart of the project is the “digital driving licence” for children in grades 3 to 6.

“Lilo Lausch” – Listening Connects and Opens Up Worlds!
“Lilo Lausch” strengthens early childhood language and listening skills in daycare centres – in a playful, diverse and everyday way with the elephant hand puppet “Lilo-Lausch”.

LeseFunken
“LeseFunken” strengthens children in their last year of nursery and in grade 1 through playful language and reading promotion. This lays the foundations for educational success and equal opportunities at an early age.

Perspectives Workshops
The project supports young people in developing their own plans for the future, accompanied by role models with similar life stories. This gives them the courage to determine their own destiny and provides a tangible path to independence.

Starter-project for the Transition Nursery- Primary School
The Starter Project prepares children from socially disadvantaged neighbourhoods for their school start through playful language and learning support, while simultaneously actively involving parents in the educational process. The programme takes place close to affected children’s homes at family primary school centres in Essen

Hood Runners
“Hood Runners” – young people aged 16 to 27 help young people with a refugee background orientate themselves in their new living environment and find their feet.

First Aid for Children’s Souls
“First aid for children’s souls” strengthens refugees and socially disadvantaged children in Cologne through playful, non-verbal trauma management in sand play. In group and individual programmes, they gain self-confidence, social stability and a new joy for life.

Conviviendo – Ayuda para Cabanyal
Anti-aggression training for young people and the strengthening of parents’ educational skills for a non-violent family life.

“Hello School”
“Hello School!” supports children from disadvantaged families in their transition to primary school – with two weeks of learning holidays full of play, encouragement and trust. This ensures a strong and joyful start to school.

Equal Opportunities in Education
“LifeLessons” brings committed citizens to primary schools in socially disadvantaged regions as LifeTeachers. In open discussions, they share their life and professional experiences and give children new ideas, perspectives and self-confidence.

Experience Nature – Empower Children
The project “Experience nature – empower children”" enables children and young people between the ages of 6 and 16 from all social backgrounds to enjoy a wide range of nature experiences – regardless of their origin or income.

Growing Up in a Healthy Manner in Essen – Family-Primary School-Centres
Family-primary school-centres offer a learning, living, and connecting environment for children and their respective families. Project offerings tailored for entire families range from communal cooking sessions to individual parental counselling.

Project “#networkTalents” is a partnership between schools in Germany, Spain, France, and the Czech Republic, establishing a digital space for the exchange between the respective students in order to foster democratic values.

The “learningCentres”, which regularly support approx. 200 students from Essen, offer additional learning support in a home-like and familiar environment.

The Book-Suitcase-Programme
Working with nurseries, schools, and parental homes, the “Book-Suitcase-Programme” founded by coach@school fosters mathematics, listening, reading, and writing skills in young children.

Building Resilience in Disadvantaged Young People
Through outdoor programmes and individual mentoring sessions, the organisation “Youth Adventure Trust” aims to steer disadvantaged young adolescents aged 11 to 16 from Swindon, Wiltshire, and Somerset towards a path of resilience and independence.

Project “DemocracyTalents” is an empowerment project for socially disadvantaged young adolescents to receive individual support and the subsequent internal drive to act as role models for democratic values.

The 16th World Festival of Children’s Theatre provides children from all over the world with a space to present their own realities and perspectives through their productions, which they created and enact themselves.

Good Start Into School
Over a period of two years via four weekly learning sessions, children who haven’t attend nursery and come from families lacking in and not seeing the importance of education, are helped to enter the schooling system successfully.

A programme in Essen, providing free of charge STEM-, art, and culture related education opportunities to disadvantaged children and young people – for greater participation and talent development.

Maggie’s Center Groningen
A school programme in Groningen promoting empathy, cohesion, and mutual support in everyday school life by providing information about cancer and other childhood illnesses. This is complemented by individual counselling, peer group activities and local support for affected families.

Balu and You in the Rhineland Region
A mentoring programme in the German Rhineland region, where young adults are trained to support primary school children for a year – to boost their confidence, everyday skills, and educational equality.

Upstream England: Preventing Youth Homelessness Through Early Intervention
A prevention programme in English schools that identifies at-risk youth at an early stage and provides them with individual support to prevent youth homelessness in the long term.
